Refinement
Refining equipment is a method to improve your equipment without needing to replace it. In all major cities, the Elder has the ability to 'Refine Equipment' for you.
The higher the refinement, the harder it becomes. Starting from level 1, your success is not guaranteed. If you fail a refinement, your item returns to level 0, unless you use a special item.
The only items required to refine a piece of equipment are Immortal Stones. You will need 2 stones for weapons and 1 stone for armor. As your equipment levels up, it will gain a specific effect depending on the type of equipment. For example, if you have a Tunic with level 1 refinement and gained +13 HP, then a level 2 refinement would yield 13*2 = +26 HP. For more information, refer to the Refinement Bonus table below.
Refining specific equipment has various effects:
Normal weapons - Improvement of physical attack
Magic weapons - Improvement of magical attack
Physical attack rings - Improvement of physical defense
Magical attack rings - Improvement of magical defense
Physical defense ornaments - Improvement of physical defense
Magical defense ornaments - Improvement of magical defense
Evasion enhancement ornaments - Improvement of evasion
Tunics - Maximum HP increase
Armor - Maximum HP increase
Refinement Bonus
The higher the equipment refinement level, the better the bonus. The improvement is based on the specific effect amplified by the current refinement level of the item. The levels are shown below:

EtherBarrier Stone
Greatly increases refinement rate.
TerraMalefic Stone
Increases refinement rate. The refinement level will only drop by 1 if the refinement fails.
Improving Dragon Ball
Dragon Ball (1 Star)
Lv1. 100% success refinement rate.
Use in the refinement process to increase success rate. Also used to craft higher-ranked Dragon Ball with Master of Synthesis.
Dragon Ball (2 Star)
Lv1. - Lv2. 100% success refinement rate.
Use in the refinement process to increase success rate. Also used to craft higher-ranked Dragon Ball with Master of Synthesis.
Dragon Ball (3 Star)
Lv1. - Lv3. 100% success refinement rate.
Use in the refinement process to increase success rate. Also used to craft higher-ranked Dragon Ball with Master of Synthesis.
Dragon Ball (4 Star)
Lv1. - Lv4. 100% success refinement rate.
Use in the refinement process to increase success rate. Also used to craft higher-ranked Dragon Ball with Master of Synthesis.
Dragon Ball (5 Star)
Lv1. - Lv5. 100% success refinement rate.
Use in the refinement process to increase success rate. Also used to craft higher-ranked Dragon Ball with Master of Synthesis.
Refinement Equipment
Increase your success rate, but also ensure that the equipment refinement level never loses more than 1 refinement level in case of failure.
Sky Stone and Evil Stone can be purchased in the Shop. Besides these stones, Dragon Pearls can also help you refine.
Currently, there is the Golden Egg in the shop where you can get Pearls up to 3 Stars and the rest must be crafted by the Jeweler. The Pearl’s level will indicate which levels it can affect.
So, for example, a level 1 Dragon Pearl will guarantee a 100% success rate for a level 1 refinement attempt.
To start refining an item, just go to an Elder and select 'Refine Equipment'. Simply drag a weapon or piece of armor into the first available box.
As you can see in the screenshot, this is a weapon, so it requires only 2 Immortal Stones. You can place special items in the 'Enhancement Material' slot to increase your chances of success or minimize damage on a failed attempt.
